Ρόλοι και αλλαγές
No more than 7 players from one team may be on the court at the same time; normally six court players and one goalkeeper. The match roster may contain up to 16 players.
Μορφή διοργάνωσης
For teams with players aged 16 and above, normal playing time is two halves of 30 minutes. The half-time break is normally 10 minutes.
Βαθμολογία
A goal is scored when the entire ball has completely crossed the goal line and the attacking team committed no violation before or during the throw. Each valid goal increases the score by one.

Only the goalkeeper may enter the goal area as a player. Court-player entry can lead to a goalkeeper throw, free throw or 7-metre throw depending on the situation. This article covers indoor handball; beach handball has a separate IHF ruleset.
